Blog your way to success

Blogs have become very popular over the last few years. The ability to quickly and easily share your views with the world has created an explosion in content on every topic imaginable. Self-publishing has been revolutionised. 

They have also become pretty essential as part of the digital marketing strategy of entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes.  

It is also possible to use a blog technology platform as the basis for your website, or to use your blog as your primary online property, your hub as as it were.

There are three main reasons to have a blog.

1. It's very easy to publish articles, and since search engines like to see regular fresh content as signs that an organisation is active it is a major boost to rankings.
   
2. The articles get indexed by search engines very quickly. The technology of Blog platforms is very search engine friendly. Use your keywords as part of your articles to help you gain visibility and be found.
   
3. Blogs don't cost much money - they are free or very low cost. However do consider the time you need to put in to create content regularly.

One major reason to have a Blog is because they are Search Engine Friendly. The technology platforms they use are generally very search engine friendly. Secondly, because it's quick and easy to add new content this keeps them fresh which the search engines like too, so the index them frequently and rate blogs highly. 

Adding design features, plug-ins and starting to integrate your Blog with your Social Media and website (if you have a separate one) increases the user experience. Encouraging visitors to subscribe to your blog and receive updates when you post new content is also very worthwhile.

Increasing further the frequency of adding of content of a high value to readers, increasing engagement activity, adding multi-media, increasing traffic and visitors to your blog and analysing the statistics and pro-actively managing the blog would indicate advanced level activity.
